Catherine Heffernan

Hello, my name is Catherine Heffernan and I am the Circuit Safeguarding Administrator. I assist our Circuit Safeguarding Officer, Maggie Woolcock , by endeavouring to keep all our paperwork and databases up to date. I am based in the Church Office at Walton Methodist Church.

I first came to Walton-on-Thames in 1993 and soon after moving, looked around for a suitable church and discovered Walton Methodist Church. Tony and I were married there and had both our children baptised there. Our sons are now away at University — so it is a bit quiet at home! I became a helper in the crèche and then a Sunday School teacher. I also took up the role of Pastoral Visitor. I was then employed as the Church Secretary and later asked to include Church Safeguarding Officer to that role.

I love acting and am a member of two amateur dramatic groups. I recently played Annie Parker in J B Priestley's ' When we are married ' and at Christmas was in the Pantomime 'Dick Whittington' playing a rather silly sailor called 'Dead Eye'. I also love walking and cycling and usually cycle to the office at the church. I am also a keen bell ringer.
