Keith Beckingham - close up

Hello, my name is Keith Beckingham. Hilary and I are delighted that the next chapter of our lives will be shared with the Wey Valley Circuit and we pray that together we will discover more of the grace of God as we pursue the path of Christian discipleship.

Prior to moving to the Wey Valley Circuit i was Superintendent of the Brownhills & Willenhall Circuit since 2014. My move to the West Midlands followed appointments in the Christchurch & Lymington Circuit from 2003 to 2012, (where I was Superintendent), and, following circuit amalgamation, the Christchurch & Wimborne Circuit. I previously served for 16 years in the Swinton and Chorley Circuits.

Before transferring to the Methodist Church I was a Salvation Army officer, subsequently studying for two years at Hartley Victoria College Manchester. I also hold a postgraduate diploma in Applied Theology from Westminster College Oxford. My wife, Hilary, (who is a local preacher), was also a Salvation Army officer and we have a grown up family living in Hampshire and South Yorkshire.

I have experience of chaplaincy in a variety of settings and I am particularly interested in developing links between mission and pastoral counselling as well as the use of music as a tool for mission.

My off-duty day is Friday.

Please note: Keith will be taking his postponed sabbatical from 27 March 2021 to 27 June 2021 but will then be on annual leave from 28 June to 11 July. During this time Dave Faulkner will be the Circuit's acting Superintendent
