Addlestone Methodist Church is a friendly church situated on the main street; Station Road. The church has served the community in Addlestone since 1899 and until recently hosted both the food bank and the toy library. It is a measure of the local demographic that both of these facilities have now moved to larger premises in the Addlestone church community.
Weekly Sunday gathered services in church began in early June and hopefully will continue. We will be using a screen to display the hymn lyrics instead of using hymn books and recorded music. We are having tea/coffee after the services — within Covid restriction rules of course.
Saturday coffee mornings are planned to start at the beginning of July.
Thursday tea/coffee and a Prayer meeting yet to be considered. We hold a bi-monthly mid-week 'Time for Prayer' evening meeting and are considering opening our rear garden area for Saturday morning coffee.
The Church hosts the uniformed organisations of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
Bear Hugs, a children's nursery which offers places to 2 — 4 year olds, meets in the church hall daily from 9.30 am — 3.30 pm. Most other hall users are expected to return shortly.
We are hopeful that Addlestone Singers and our evening hall users will be back if the 21 June restrictions are removed, or at least considerably eased.
